Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has approved a proposal to raise four more National Cadet Corps (NCC) units in the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
The Romeo Force of the Indian Army and Special Operations Group (SOG) of Jammu-Kashmir Police conducted search operations in Poonch district on Saturday, police said.

The 10-day event, beginning on January 2 and concluding on January 11, has brought together cadets from various institutions across the region to participate in multifaceted training and activities aimed at fostering leadership, teamwork, and civic responsibility among the youth.
"One contingent, including 144 personnel, would have all female soldiers, including 60 from the Army and the remaining would be from the Indian Air Force and Indian Navy," defence officials said.
A three-year-old girl who fell into a borewell in Ran village in Gujarat's Dwarka district was rescued at 9:48 PM by a rescue team and sent to hospital in an unconscious state, said officials.
