UK Defence Secretary Grant Shapps has said the UK, India are travelling in a brand new direction, the two countries will see a lot more exchange in military hardware, software and much else because they are natural partners.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and his British counterpart Grant Shapps on Wednesday attended the India-UK Defence Industry CEOs Roundtable at Trinity House in London.
The UK has announced its plans to send its Littoral Response Group to the Indian Ocean Region later this year, with plans for the Carrier Strike Group to visit in 2025. Both will operate and train with Indian forces.
Lauding the ties between the two nations, the UK Minister of State, Lord Tariq Ahmed, said that PM Modi defined the living bridge between the United Kingdom and India. He also conveyed British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's greetings to his Indian counterpart, PM Modi.
The Defence Minister would be accompanied by a high-level Ministry of Defence delegation, comprising senior officials from DRDO, Service Headquarters, the Department of Defence, and the Department of Defence Production.
Jaishankar expressed the significance of his conversation with Kuleba, saying, "A useful conversation with FM @DmytroKuleba of Ukraine today. Discussed advancing our bilateral cooperation in the year ahead. Exchanged views on the ongoing conflict in Ukraine."
