A Presidential visit from Tanzania is taking place after a span of over 8 years. The upcoming visit will further invigorate and strengthen the historic and friendly relations between India and Tanzania, said the MEA release.
General Manoj Pande is on an official visit to Tanzania from October 2 to 5 2023, reinforcing the long-standing defence ties between the two countries.
The two sides held discussions on enhancing bilateral defence cooperation and strengthening bonds of friendship between the armies of India and Tanzania.
While co-chairing the 10th India-Tanzania Joint Commission Meeting in Dar es Salaam on Saturday, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar called the two nations "important trade partners" and added that bilateral relations have always been strong since independence.
The regional Ambassadorial conference was attended by representatives from Angola, Burundi, Congo, Swaziland, Ethiopia, Kenya, Lesotho, Mozambique, Malawi, Namibia, Rwanda, Tanzania, South Africa, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, on Friday, met with the members of the India-Tanzania Parliamentary Friendship Group and appreciated their warm sentiments for stronger parliamentary, political, economic and people-to-people ties.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Thursday stressed the importance of Mission IT (India and Tanzania) while interacting with the members of the Indian community here, saying that he was in the country on an "IT mission, as in India-Tanzania mission."
