The Sultan of Oman, Haitham bin Tarik, was accorded a ceremonial reception at the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on Saturday, the second day of his state visit to India.
The discussions between Sultan Haitham and the Indian leadership in New Delhi aim to foster integration and cooperation, paving the way for enhanced collaboration.
As per the official statement, this will be the first state visit of Oman's Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to India and marks a significant milestone in the diplomatic relations between India and the Sultanate of Oman.
"Minister of State (MoS) for External Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs Shri V Muraleedharan will pay his third official visit to the Sultanate of Oman on 18-19 October 2023," Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said.
During the visits of Indian Navy Ships, INS Visakhapatnam and Trikand to Oman, sporting and cultural programmes are being conducted to further strengthen the ties between the two countries.
The Indian Navy and Royal Oman Navy are working together to address security challenges in the region and the warship is part of the Western Naval Command Fleet
