The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved the signing of the Air Services Agreement between the Government of India and the Government of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana, as per an official release.
The new Air Services Agreement between India, and Guyana will provide an enabling environment for enhanced and seamless connectivity while providing commercial opportunities to the carriers of both sides, according to a release by Press Information Bureau (PIB).
"Warm welcome to Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo of Guyana on his arrival in India. The visit will further strengthen India-Guyana bilateral cooperation and people-to-people linkages," tweeted the Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Arindam Bagchi.
India has been leading the way in technology, renewable energy, and sustainable development, said Guyana President Mohamed Irfaan Ali on Tuesday as he vouched for bilateral cooperation in several areas.
India and Guyana held the 4th round of Foreign Office Consultations in Georgetown on November 28. During the meeting, the delegation of India and Guyana discussed regional and international issues of mutual interest and cooperation in multilateral bodies, including CARICOM.
