Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, said that the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between India and the European Union has to be fair, equitable and balanced.
Lindner said, "The Indo-Pacific region is a true global economic heavyweight that generates 60 per cent of global GDP and two thirds of global growth. However, stability and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific are inseparably linked with Europe and the entire world".
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met former UN Ambassador, Inga Rhonda King on Tuesday in the national capital and appreciated the role of the L69 grouping in highlighting the voice of the Global South.
The minister touched upon six broad elements that are driving the world economy: production and consumption, connectivity and logistics, technology, demographics, values and comforts, and the architecture or framework to do business
"My point is: just as I do not expect Europe to have a view of China that is identical to mine, Europe should understand that I cannot have a view of Russia that is identical to the European one. Let us accept that there are natural differences in relationships," he said.
Herve Delphin, European Union Ambassador to India, thanked External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar for hosting them on Monday and emphasised that "TeamEurope" together with "India" can make a difference.
While challenges persist, including natural gas supply security issues and the ongoing coal phaseout, government policy developments and demand from larger Asian markets are identified as key areas to monitor.
