Bangladesh resumed their innings at 71/4, Zakir Hasan and Litton Das handled the charge as they slammed Indian bowlers all around the ground while gathering singles at regular intervals.
Jaydev Unadkat, Ravichandran Ashwin, Mohammed Siraj and Axar Patel took a wicket each to dismantle the hosts in the first session of the third day of the second test. At the crease is Zakir Hasan (37*) with Litton Das, who is yet to open his account.
India moved to the third spot in the ICC World Test Championship table with this win as Bangladesh succumbed to the brilliant blowing of India's spinners losing their four wickets within an hour of the first session of the fifth day.
Gill shared an unbeaten 70-run stand with Cheteshwar Pujara for the second wicket to put India in a commanding position. Gill remained unbeaten on 80 while Pujara scored 33 heading into tea.

Karthik had left the field midway against South Africa citing discomfort in the back. Rishabh Pant had assumed the wicketkeeper's role behind the stumps after he left the field. Speculations about Karthik's fitness had been making the rounds after the South Africa match.
