The Supreme Court on Monday slammed the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (MMRCL) for attempting to "overreach" the apex court order in the Aarey forest tree case and imposed a Rs 10 lakh fine on Mumbai Metro for seeking to fell more trees in violation of court's order.
"The curfew has been imposed from 7 pm to 6 am and the schools and Anganwadi centres of Rikhanikhal and Dhumakot tehsils will remain closed on 17 and 18 April," the order reads.
"A murder happened and section 144 was imposed, the government there (Uttar Pradesh) did it. But if this incident took place despite the presence of (UP) police, then it is a serious matter. This raises a big question on law and order," Raut said while speaking to the media.

The District Administration have imposed an indefinite curfew in Sambalpur and extended the ban on Internet services, as precautionary measures, in wake of fresh violence in Sambalpur, the police said on Saturday.
Pravash Chandra Dandasana, the Sub Collector and Sub-district Magistrate of Sadar, Sambalpur in an official order on Friday said that the decision was taken after "receiving input on the current situation prevailing in Sambalpur town area."
"In order to conserve fish population the Odisha Government has imposed the Two Month Uniform Ban on fishing within territorial waters along the entire Coastline of the State, starting from April 15," the official statement said.
The Delhi High Court has dismissed the three petitions challenging the notifications of the central government's imposed Goods and Services Tax (GST) on online booking of autorickshaw rides through ride-sharing applications by commuters.

Aadhaar-PAN linking was free till March 31, 2022. A fee of Rs 500 was being imposed since April 1 last year and was later raised to Rs 1,000 from July 1.
