The India Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rain today, Friday, at isolated places in Gujarat's districts of Kachchh, Morbi, Jamnagar, Devbhoomi Dwarka, and Porbandar.
The alert predicts medium-intensity rainfall over the next 12 hours, primarily affecting the districts of Bilaspur, Chamba, Hamirpur, Kangra, Kullu, and Mandi.
A red alert has been issued in Sawai Madhopur, Karoli and Bharatpur. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is predicted alongwith thunderstorms at isolated places in these areas. As per the IMD, waterlogging is also expected in the areas which could affect the daily lives of the people.
The weather department also informed that light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is likely to occur in various districts of Himachal Pradesh.
"Heavy to very heavy rainfall at many places, with extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places, is likely to occur in districts of the Kumaon region. Heavy rains have also been forecast in Chamoli, Rudraprayag, and Pauri districts of Uttarakhand," said the weather department.
"Isolated heavy rainfall (64.5 to 115.6 mm) along with possible hailstorms are forecasted on November 27 in Madhya Maharashtra. Take necessary precautions and stay safe, everyone!," IMD said in a post on 'X' on Monday afternoon.
A deep easterly wave prevailing over peninsular India could bring heavy rainfall in Tamil Nadu and Kerala over the next couple of days, a scientist with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Tuesday.
