A holiday has been declared for educational institutions in Thrissur, Idukki, Ernakulam, Wayanad, and Kasargod districts on May 26 due to heavy rain alerts.

According to sources, a show cause notice will also be served to the Assistant Engineer for "supervisory lapses" and the Executive Engineer is directed to submit an explanation detailing preventive measures to avoid such incidents in the future.
He further stated that while there was a possibility of rain in Delhi today, forecasts by IMD predicted thunderstorm activity and gusty winds at a speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour.
