In a major breakthrough in the ongoing manhunt for fugitive pro-Khalistan leader and radical preacher Amritpal Singh, Punjab's Inspector General of Police (IGP), Headquarters, Sukhchain Singh Gill, on Thursday revealed that the Waris Punjab De chief's last location was in Haryana.
Chief Justice Aamer Farooq issued the notices seeking the report during the hearing of a contempt petition, filed by assistant commissioner Shalimar against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan.
The car in which 'Waris Punjab De' leader Amritpal Singh fled while being chased by police has been recovered and he visited a Gurudwara in Nangal Ambian village in Jalandhar district and changed his clothes before fleeing again, a senior Punjab Police official said here on Thursday
"We have a very strong suspicion of an ISI angle, based on the facts and circumstances that have come to light so far. We also have a very strong suspicion of foreign funding. Going by the circumstances, it seems that ISI is involved and there is foreign funding as well," Punjab IGP said
Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Usman Anwar said police had completed the search and cleanup operation in Zaman Park and seized AK-47 assault rifles and a large number of bullets from Imran Khan's residence in Lahore.
According to the notification issued by the Establishment Division, "Muhammad Saeed, a BS-21 officer of the Police Service of Pakistan, presently posted as Inspector General Gilgit-Baltistan, is transferred and directed to report to the Establishment Division".
