The Indian Air Force (IAF) rescued 13 marooned survivors from a small island in the flooded Brahmaputra, north of Dibrugarh in Assam, officials said on Tuesday.
The Office of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday assured that the Central Government was providing all possible assistance to Tamil Nadu in the wake of incessant rains that have wreaked havoc in Southern districts of Tamil Nadu.
The Indian Air Force (IAF) helicopters on Thursday were deployed at the site of a bus accident at Assar in Doda, Jammu and Kashmir. The helicopters evacuated critically injured survivors to Jammu.
According to the official, The incident took place when the helicopter was on a routine training mission. The pilot noticed the technical issues and decided to make a precautionary landing in an open field near Bhopal. There were no casualties or injuries reported in the incident.
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu on Thursday brought several stranded tourists from Sangla to Shimla in the IAF helicopter in which he was travelling.
Taking to Twitter, Head Quarters Western Air Command, IAF said, "Today an #IAF helicopter airlifted an elderly woman in a critical medical condition, from Shade village in Zanskar Vally to Leh #Ladakh for treatment. #HarKaamDeshKeNaam"
"Today's operations have seen this helicopter flying multiple missions dispensing almost 22,000 litres of water to fight the fire," read the official release.
