Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday met Union Energy and Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and requested special assistance under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) and the development of hydroelectric projects in the state.
Himachal Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Monday visited the site of the Shongtong-Karcham hydroelectric project in Kinnaur district to inspect the ongoing developmental works.
Officials said the proposal to divert 29.997 hectares of forest land for the project was cleared during a meeting held at Indira Paryavaran Bhawan in Delhi.
