Netanyahu has authorised an Israeli negotiating delegation to travel to Qatar and Egypt in the coming days to hold talks on the release of hostages still held in Gaza.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met on Wednesday at the Prime Minister's Office in Jerusalem with a bipartisan US Congressional delegation, organised by AIPAC, the America Israel Public Affairs Committee.
The meeting was held in private and lasted over one-and-a-half hours. The Minister and Advisor discussed efforts to ensure the release of hostages held by the Hamas terrorist organization in Gaza, as well as the measures required to ensure the destruction of Hamas' governing and military cap
The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) released a statement on the vote saying, "The United States has abandoned its policy in the UN today. Just a few days ago, it supported a Security Council resolution that linked a call for a ceasefire to the release of hostages."
"The Security Council just approved a long-awaited resolution on Gaza, demanding an immediate ceasefire, and the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages. This resolution must be implemented. Failure would be unforgivable," Guterres posted on X.
United States Secretary of Defence Lloyd J Austin III held a conversation on Wednesday with Israeli Minister of Defence Yoav Gallant and their discussion primarily focused on negotiations for the release of hostages, a temporary ceasefire, and aid boosts in Gaza.
Netanyahu told the delegation that he defines victory in Gaza as the destruction of the Hamas terrorist organization's military and governing capabilities, the return of the Israeli Hamas holds hostage in Gaza and preventing Gaza from becoming a threat to Israel at any time in the future.
