The tournament is scheduled to take place from August 25 to August 28. India are in the Elite Pool along with Japan, Malaysia, and Thailand. The second, Challengers Pool, consists of Hong Kong China, Chinese Taipei, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Iran, and Oman.

In the first quarter, both teams got off to a fast start. India were aggressively attacking to take the lead, but by the end of the first quarter, the score was tied at 0-0 as both teams put up strong defensive displays.
Defending Champions Japan, runners-up Korea, China, Malaysia, Thailand and hosts India are expected to participate in the tournament. The Indian Women's Team won this title in 2016 and in the following edition in 2018, they finished runners-up, as per the Hockey India release.
A total of 80 players including 40 boys and 40 girls from across the country will step on the pitch, which hosted the FIH Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup 2023 Bhubaneswar – Rourkela earlier this year, and will be coached by a team of support staff comprising highly accomplished hockey players.
The camp will serve as an opportunity for the players to gear up for the all-important Hangzhou Asian Games, which is scheduled to be held from 23 September to 8 October 2023 in China, as per a press release from Hockey India.
Entering the match fresh off a 6-2 victory over Spain, India jumped out to an early lead against the hosts Germany, but Germany ended the match on winning note.
