Former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jairam Thakur on Thursday visited landslide-affected areas of Kuklah and urged the state Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu to arrange rations for the people living in these areas.
"As a token gesture the Government of Tamil Nadu is contributing a sum of Rs. 10 crore towards the relief works in your State," Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin wrote in a letter to his counterpart in Himachal Pradesh.
Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot in a post on X on Friday said, “The Rajasthan government will provide Rs 15 crore in assistance to help people affected by heavy rain and landslides in Himachal Pradesh.”
According to the statement, Nadda on his visit to the flood-hit state will meet the affected family members of those who lost their lives due to the calamity.
According to officials, more than 250 people from landslide-affected areas have been shifted to safe places in the last three days. The list of these areas includes Krishana Nagar, Downdale, and Fagli.
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Monday informed that over 50 people have lost their lives within the past 24 hours due to landslides and continuous rainfall in the area. He also expressed concerns that over 20 people are feared to be trapped under debris.
National Highway 205 (NH 205) was on Sunday blocked at Dakesh in the Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh due to a landslide, said authorities. They also said that two trucks and one light motor vehicle were damaged in the landslide
