Amid destrcution caused due to monsoon in several parts of the country, the Ministry of Finance has released Rs 7,532 crore on Wednesday among 22 state governments for the respective State Disaster Response Funds (SDRF).
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu on Wednesday said that around 50 per cent of stranded tourists have been evacuated from the flood-hit regions and added that the government's priority is to safely evacuate tourists.
The Principal Secretary said that they have received reports of six deaths, ten injuries, and 303 animal deaths so far. He further added that the loss due to rain is expected to be Rs 3 crore.
