Ram Nath Kovind, Chairman of the High Level Committee (HLC) on the One Nation One Election, and its members N K Singh and Sanjay Kothari continued their interactions with State Election Commissioners (SEC) on Monday to seek their views on holding simultaneous elections.
The High-Level Committee (HLC), constituted by the government under the chairmanship of Ram Nath Kovind, the former President of India, to examine the issue relating to holding of simultaneous elections in the country held its meeting with the political parties on Saturday.

The High-Level Committee (HLC) on One Nation One Election, chaired by Ram Nath Kovind, former President of India, on Tuesday continued consultations with representatives of industries on the subject of holding simultaneous elections in the country.
The chairman of the High-Level Committee (HLC) on One Nation One Election and former President, Ram Nath Kovind, on Tuesday met and interacted with representatives of Trinamool Congress leaders Sudip Bandyopadhyay and Kalyan Banerjee who put forth their opinions on the subject.
"I have cancelled my trip to Delhi because the state's budget is on February 8...and because I have only 2 days left, I have cancelled my trip to Delhi due to an emergency... I am sending Sudip Bandyopadhyay and Kalyan Banerjee on behalf of my party," CM Banerjee said.
The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has expressed its views to the High-Level Committee on One Nation, One Election (ONOE), supporting simultaneous elections that would synchronise the electoral cycles at the central and state levels.
The delegation made a presentation before the committee in which the views of the industry on ONOE and its impact were highlighted, after which they presented a formal memorandum.
