Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin on Saturday reviewed the current situation in various places of the state in the wake of cyclone Fengal.
According to IMD, Cyclone 'Fengal' over Southwest Bay of Bengal moved west-northwestwards earlier and is expected to cross north Tamil Nadu and Puducherry coasts later in the day.
As Cyclone Fengal is expected to make landfall today evening in Tamil Nadu, multiple flights to and from Chennai have been affected on Friday due to inclement weather in the region.

Coastal districts of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh are likely to experience heavy rainfall over the next few days, with weather officials urging residents to remain vigilant. Fishermen have been advised to avoid venturing into the Bay of Bengal due to rough sea conditions.

On weather forecast, IMD scientist Dr Soma Sen Roy on Friday, speaking to ANI, said that recent conditions due to deep circulation in the area of the Gulf of Mannar may result in heavy rainfall across Kerala and Tamil Nadu's southern region.
