India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday issued an alert over heavy rainfall and low-pressure area formation in parts of Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Lakshadweep area during the next 24 hours.
After IMD predicted rainfall and strong winds for Karnataka, a holiday was announced on Monday in schools in Karnataka's Chikkaballapur and Kolar districts.
