As per the health secretariat's report, the Mexican state of Nuevo Leon was hit the hardest with 64 deaths confirmed. Dozens of deaths were also reported across Tamaulipas, Veracruz, Tabasco, Oaxaca, Quintana Roo, Sonora, and Campeche.
"The effect of a heatwave is being seen in various districts of the state for the last few days. In such a situation, concrete arrangements should be made at every level for the protection of common life, livestock and wildlife." CM Yogi said.
On Saturday, Odisha's Sonepur recorded the highest day temperature at 45.6 degrees Celsius. Bhubaneshwar recorded the highest day temperature at 44.6 degrees Celsius,
"In Delhi, Punjab and Haryana, the temperature may reach near 40-45 in the coming days. The heat wave is continuing in Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh. An orange alert has been issued in these parts for the coming five days," he said.
Heat wave conditions are likely to prevail for two days in Telangana and for one day in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India Meteorological Department (IMD) scientists said.
While speaking to ANI, IMD Scientist Umashankar Das said, "We are expecting hot weather conditions and heat wave conditions to continue for the next three days. Apart from that, several places in Odisha will experience above normal temperatures by 4-6 degrees."
The heat wave conditions are prevailing in Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and West Bengal. For this the IMD had issued an orange alert in these regions. Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are also coming under the influence of heatwave. Heatwave also expected for the next 2 to 3 days in south

IMD Scientist Kuldeep Srivastava told ANI that the temperature is expected to fall in the coming days pertaining to the light drizzle and strong winds.
