The Delhi High Court granted an interim stay on the demolition of six properties in the Batla House area of Okhla in South East Delhi. Residents of these properties have challenged the notices issued by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) in May 2025.
The Delhi High Court on Monday reserved its order on pleas challenging notices issued for demolition of alleged illegal properties in Batla House area of Okhla in South East Delhi.
The appeal filed challenging the order issued by the single-judge bench to cancel bike taxis was heard by a two-judge bench of Acting Chief Justice Kameswar Rao and Justice Sreenivas Harish Kumar.
The High court said, "accused, being in judicial custody, it is the duty of the State to ensure her well-being and right to good health." Justice Girish Kathpalia rejected the interim bail plea of Jyoti and directed her to to surrender on June 15 before the jail authorities.
