Taking to Twitter, Blinken said, "Great meeting with my friend @MofaJapan_en Foreign Minister Hayashi as Japan leads the @G7 in 2023. We stand united with Japan and our G7 partners to promote peace, security, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region and around the world."
The statement said, "There can be no impunity for war crimes and other atrocities such as Russia's attacks against civilians and critical civilian infrastructure."
While addressing the reporters following the meeting with China's Qin gang, Japan's Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi said that he sought consular access to the Japanese citizen and urged China to provide transparency in the judicial process.
The meeting of Ashwini Vaishnaw with Japanese digital minister was held only a few days before the India visit of Prime Minister of Japan, Kishida Fumio.

Japanese foreign minister also said that long as China abides by international norms and laws then there are no conflicting issues between China and the Quad.
The meeting will be chaired by External Affairs Minister, S Jaishankar, and will see the participation of Foreign Ministers of Australia, Penny Wong and Japan's Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi and the US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken.
