Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel inaugurated the 11th Asian Aquatics Championship at the newly constructed Veer Savarkar Sports Complex. Minister of State for Sports Harsh Sanghavi was also present at the inauguration ceremony held at the Veer Savarkar Sports Complex.
The event was graced by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Union Minister for Sports Mansukh Mandaviya, Agriculture Minister Shri Raghavji Patel, Minister of State for Sports Harsh Sanghavi, and Mayor Smt Pratibha Jain.

The delegation was led by Harsh Sanghavi, Minister of Sports, Government of Gujarat. The bid positions Ahmedabad as the host city for the Centenary edition of the Games, marking 100 years of the Commonwealth Games.

India will be one of the seven hosts of the AFC U17 Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2026 Qualifiers, scheduled to be played from November 22 to 30, 2025. All matches in India will be held at The Arena in Ahmedabad. The official draw for the qualifiers is set to be held on August 7, 2025.
