Taking cognizance of a viral video of harassment on Holi, Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal on Saturday said the DCW issued a notice to the Delhi Police to probe the videos and nab the perpetrators.
The matter of the alleged sexual harassment of minor girls came to the fore on Saturday (March 4) during an inspection by the Child Welfare Committee State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (SCPCR) at the hostel where around 600 students are residing.
"Prima-facie, on the basis of the landmark seen in the video, it seems that the video pertains to Paharganj, however, it is being verified on the ground whether any such incident took place in that area or the video is old," officials said.
"A BRS MLA called me. He directed me to fall into line. Otherwise, we will not cooperate. There is also a woman involved in this. It is not my culture to defame a woman and thus I cannot reveal her name," Praveen told the media.
