Maharashtra Ironmen were crowned champions of the inaugural Premier Handball League season after a dominant display in the final against the Golden Eagles Uttar Pradesh.
In the Premier Handball League match on Saturday, Maharashtra Ironmen defeated Rajasthan Patriots 38-28 at the Sawai Mansingh Indoor Stadium in Jaipur. Maharashtra Ironmen became the first team to book their spot in the finals of the Premier Handball League.
In the semi-final clash of the Premier Handball League, Golden Eagles Uttar Pradesh defeated Telugu Talons by 4-3 in the penalty shoot-out on Saturday at the Sawai Mansingh Indoor Stadium.
The Rajasthan Patriots finished the league campaign in third place and had beaten the same opponent by a margin of five goals in their last encounter of the league. They also got the better of Ironmen in the opening clash of the league.
Happy Singh was the top scorer for the Rajasthan Patriots in this game with eight goals, while Jalal Kiani was the top scorer for the Ironmen in the match with seven goals. Dmitry Kireev was adjudged to be the most valuable player of the match.

The Maharashtra Ironmen have won seven matches and are on top of the table with a total of 15 points. Vijay Singh feels that the team will be able to continue their performance in the last four as well and their aim now is to win the Premier Handball League title.
With 12 points and six wins from nine games Rajasthan Patriots currently stand third in the league standings while Maharashtra Ironmen with 15 points in the same number of games are the current table toppers.
