Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday claimed it arrested a terror associate of The Resistance Front (TRF), an offshoot of proscribed Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba during a checking in Kehnusa village of Bandipora district.
Two children were killed after unidentified persons hurled grenades into a home in Afghanistan's eastern region of Nangarhar, Khaama Press reported, citing officials, on Tuesday.
Three terrorists were killed in an intelligence-based operation in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region of Dera Ismail Khan, Dawn reported citing the military's media affairs wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) as saying on Sunday.
According to officials, the Bandipora Police, jointly with 13 Rashtriya Rifles and 45Bn Central Reserve Police Force arrested a terrorist associate of LeT at Baharabad Hajin.
"He has been identified as Khursheed Ahmad Bhat. Incriminating materials and a hand grenade were recovered from his possession," the official statement said.
The assistant sub inspector of Punjab Police, Karnail Singh, told ANI, "The hand grenade was found wedged between sandbags outside the gate. We reached out immediately as soon as we were informed, a bomb disposal team has been called to diffuse it."
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday filed a chargesheet against three Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operatives in the Hyderabad hand grenade case on the charge of hatching a terror conspiracy to raise funds, collect explosives and carry out recruitment into the banned outfit.
