Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) head Hafiz Naeemur Rehman on Monday announced a protest in Islamabad on July 12 against "high taxes and exorbitant electricity tariff."
Speaking to reporters in Lahore's Mansoorah, Jamaat-e-Islami amir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that the party has planned a national agenda aimed at peaceful resistance protests.

Speaking on the occasion, Rehman announced that JI would launch a movement against the government 'imposed' through Form 47 and the 'fake democratic' process.
JI Central Information Secretary Qaisar Sharif said that over 45,000 members of the party cast their votes to elect the new emir during the recent intra-party elections.
