The new chief minister of Gujarat will be sworn in on December 12 at 2 pm, state BJP chief CR Paatil said on Thursday as the party swept the Assembly polls with a record-breaking margin.
"Voting for the Gujarat Assembly elections was completed in a peaceful atmosphere. Everyone voted very enthusiastically, from youth to women to elders, making this festival of democracy worthwhile. I express my heartfelt Thank to all the voters for this," tweeted Chief Minister Bhupendra Pat
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel cast his vote in the ongoing second phase of the state Assembly elections and said that the BJP would break all its old records in the state and emerge victorious.
"In 2nd phase, OBC-majority assembly segments are going to poll. Congress played its cards of the chief ministerial candidate likely being an OBC, so I think central Gujarat, north Gujarat & this entire area will vote for Cong. I see a change in the 27-yr-long BJP rule," Vaghela said.
Former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and his wife Anjali Rupani cast their votes at a polling station in Rajkot in the first phase of State Assembly elections on Thursday.
Addressing a public rally in the Botad district of Gujarat on Sunday, the PM said it was for voters to shape the destiny of the state in the coming years.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has also slammed the Congress over Patkar's participation in yatra, saying the opposition party has "time and again shown their animosity towards Gujarat and Gujaratis".
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a rally in Gujarat and said that the state flourished when he was the Chief Minister of the state.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Gujarat Bhupendra Patel on Wednesday held a roadshow in Ghatlodya in Gujarat's Ahmedabad, ahead of nomination filing by the Chief Minister for upcoming Assembly elections.
