Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Greek counterpart, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who is currently on a visit to New Delhi, attended the ninth Raisina Dialogue in the national capital on Wednesday.
The trade volumes between India and Greece have grown from approximately USD 690 million in the financial year 2021 to USD 1,950 million in 2023, said Sanjeev Agrawal, President, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in a press statement issued on Wednesday.
Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra on Wednesday emphasised that Indian economic presence is already in Greece and it is not just starting to be talked about.
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Wednesday said peace and stability in the Middle East was necessary for the success of the India-Middle East Economic Corridor announced during India's G20 presidency last year.
"We are making significant progress towards deepening the strategic cooperation in all spheres in security and defence, investment and trade, science and technology, cyberspace, education, culture, tourism, agriculture. Greece and India are close to one another in many respects," he said.
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis along with his wife Mareva Grabowski-Mitsotakis laid a wreath at the Raj Ghat and paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on Wednesday. Mitsotakis wrote in the visitors book at Raj Ghat.
Raisina Dialogue is India's flagship conference on geopolitics and geoeconomics, committed to addressing the most challenging issues facing the global community.
After receiving the guard of honour, Greek PM said that the strategic partnership with India holds a significant importance for Greece and he is looking forward to have discussions with PM Modi.
