Chief Managing Director, GSL, Brajesh Upadhyay apprised Kenya's Cabinet Secretary for Defence (CSD) of the ship design, shipbuilding and ship repair capabilities of GSL.
The ship's primary role is to undertake coastal and offshore patrolling, ocean surveillance and monitoring of Sea Lines of Communication, HADR and SAR duties, the official said.
During the interactions, the Sri Lankan navy leadership and the ship's crew acknowledged the operational utility of the offshore patrol vessels developed by Goa Shipyard Limited.
