The Goa government on Sunday issued emergency helpline numbers to assist families, tourists and residents following the massive fire that killed twenty-five people at a nightclub in North Goa's Arpora, said the release.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convener Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday, expressed grief over the tragic fire at a club in Arpora, Goa, which claimed 25 lives.
Speaking to ANI, the Goa CM said that managers of the club and others have already been arrested in the case, and an arrest warrant has been issued against the owners of the club.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday expressed deep grief over the loss of lives in a major fire incident at a club-cum-restaurant in Goa's Arpora, which claimed over two dozen lives and left at least half a dozen injured.
The death toll from the massive fire in a club at Goa's Arpora has risen to 25, with 4 of them identified as tourists, and 14 others as staff members, Goa Police said on Sunday.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) wrote, "An ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF will be given to the next of kin of each deceased in the mishap in Arpora, Goa. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000: PM."
President Droupadi Murmu expressed deep grief over the fire mishap in Arpora, calling the incident "deeply pained" and conveying her support to the affected families.
BJP MLA Michael Lobo on Sunday called for a safety audit of all clubs in Goa following a fire in Arpora that killed 23 people, including three women and 20 men.
Authorities have initiated investigations into the tragedy, and efforts are ongoing to provide medical assistance and support to the injured and the families of the victims.
The blaze was reported around midnight, and emergency teams rushed to the spot. The injured were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment, while authorities worked through the night to bring the situation under control.
"Today's operations have seen this helicopter flying multiple missions dispensing almost 22,000 litres of water to fight the fire," read the official release.
