Days after Go First grounded its aircraft, leading international carrier Lufthansa on Thursday said it temporarily grounded a third of its Airbus A220 fleet in Zurich due to some issues with Pratt and Whitney engines.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has examined the response of Go First and has issued an order to the carrier to process their refunds to passengers.
Air India may hire Go First cabin and cockpit crew as part of its mega expansion plans after the news of Go First going into bankruptcy, according to sources.
Mayal in a statement on Wednesday commented on the struggles faced by the industry regarding correct procedures and protocols, stating it is surprising that a country, considered a power centre, faces such challenges again and again, pertaining to the aviation sector.
The counters of the budget airline, owned by the Wadia Group, wore a deserted look on Wednesday morning. Passengers flocked to other counters to find fares of other airlines, surged to exorbitant amounts, amid the crisis.

"The two Go First flights - one from Srinagar to Mumbai and another from Delhi to Mumbai - that were diverted to Surat airport, have now departed from Surat," said Surat Airport Director Rupesh Kumar.
"I have my flight to Mumbai, as I reached the airport there was nobody at the counter...we asked to adjust us to other flights but the airline is only talking about giving us a refund," said Gurvinder Singh the passenger.
"Go First has been faced with critical supply chain issues with regard to their engines. The GOI has been assisting the airline in every possible manner. The issue has also been taken up with the stakeholders involved," he said.

"In January, there were zero passenger complaints against the airline, and it had just 0.05 percent cancellation rate. In February, passenger complaints were zero, and the cancellation rate was 0.04 percent. In March, the cancellation rate was 0.04 percent, and passenger complaints were zero
