In an exclusive interview with ANI, Mehta said, "In Andhra Pradesh, the ghee used in the Tirupati temple was found with adulteration. Some people tried to propagate false information by saying that ghee to TTD was supplied by Amul."
Reacting to the alleged presence of animal fat in the ghee used for preparing the laddu prasadam at the Lord Venkateswara temple in Tirupati, Union Minister BL Verma said on Saturday that action should be taken against those responsible.
Amid a row over the use of animal fat in prasada given at Tirumala temple in Andhra's Tirupati district, Amul issued a clarification on Friday, stating that it had never supplied ghee to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD).
"A circular will be issued today or tomorrow to all major temples in Karnataka mandating the use of only KMF's Nandini ghee in prasada. We will also test the prasada given at these temples," Redday said.
