Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh Police Commissioner J Ravinder Goud, while speaking to ANI, said, "Two days ago, an attack was carried out on a man at Loni police station, after which we identified the attackers by reviewing the CCTV footage.
A petition filed by Kashif Athar, the brother of the accused and a practising advocate, alleged that despite informing the concerned police authorities of Ghaziabad about the court's protection order via email, the said authorities issued a public notice in the newspaper. This public notice,
"All these thieves used to steal radio receiver units and other items from mobile towers. They used to sell all the stolen goods to scrap dealers in Mustafabad," Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADCP) of Police Sachidanand Rai said.
In a major crackdown, the Crime Branch of Ghaziabad police has arrested a notorious gang of thieves responsible for stealing batteries, Remote Radio units (RRU), and other equipment from mobile towers across Ghaziabad, Noida, and Delhi-NCR, said police.
