US President Donald Trump on Monday responded to former President Bill Clinton's remarks praising his role in brokering the Gaza ceasefire, describing the acknowledgement as "very nice" while speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One.
Addressing world leaders during a peace summit in Egypt's Red Sea resort city of Sharm El-Sheikh, Trump celebrated the treaty as an answer to the prayers of millions and declared that peace in the region had at last been achieved.
Expressing gratitude towards US President Donald Trump, his Middle East envoy, Steve Witkoff, described it as a "powerful night," thanking Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for their efforts in achieving the Gaza ceasefire and hostage deal.
"The Kingdom appreciates the active role of U.S. President Donald Trump and the mediation efforts by the State of Qatar, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the Republic of Turkiye to reach this agreement," the statement issued by Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) read.
The Office of the Prime Minister of Israel posted on X, "Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu just spoke with the Prime Minister of India. Narendra Modi conveyed his congratulations to Prime Minister Netanyahu on the agreement achieved for the release of all of the hostages."
"The government has now approved the outline for the release of all the hostages - the living and the dead," the Israeli Prime Minister's office announced early on Friday morning, The Jerusalem Post reported.
At the meeting, he highlighted his administration's role in addressing global conflicts, claiming that seven wars had been ended during his tenure and referring to the signing of the first phase of Gaza ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas as "number eight."
The US President had convened a cabinet meeting at the White House on Thursday morning following the announcement that the "first phase" of a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas would commence soon.
