A joint team of the Special Operations Group (SOG) Yamunapar Zone and Kaundhiyara Police on Monday arrested two individuals and recovered over 13.55 kilograms of illegal cannabis from their possession in Prayagraj, police said.
The team conducted a trap near Nala, Golf Course Road in Dwarka, and intercepted two vehicles. The occupants were apprehended, and a total of 411 kg of fine-quality ganja was recovered.
The contraband was discovered inside seven packets stored inside two bags, left unclaimed on the platform. Following all legal formalities, the ganja was officially seized as unclaimed property.
According to officials, the two women were caught carrying 23 kg-- 660 grams of dry ganja, concealed in eight packets inside two trolley bags. Preliminary interrogation revealed that they were en-route to Chennai via Deoghar with the narcotics consignment.
