India's number one woman Skeet shooter Ganemat Sekhon, made a good start at the year's sixth International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup Shotgun stage in Lonato, Italy, missing two targets in the first two qualifying rounds to effectively lie 14th with three more rounds remainin
India's six-member Skeet shooting team comprises of senior pro and Olympian Mairaj Ahmad Khan, Anantjeet Singh Naruka and Gurjoat Khangura in Men's Skeet, while Ganemat Sekhon, Darshna Rathore and Maheshwari Chauhan take aim in the Women's Skeet competition.
The event will also serve as a qualifier for the Paris 2024 Olympics. The Lonato leg, held at the Trap Concaverde Shooting Range, will be the sixth shotgun competition of the ISSF 2023 calendar.
Anantjeet Singh Naruka and Ganemat Sekhon finished sixth in the Mixed Team Skeet competition at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup Shotgun, in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
Darshna Rathore won a bronze medal at an International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup stage. Ganemat Sekhon won a silver medal at the event as well. This was the first time that two senior individual medals in the women's category were won by India.

The tournament in Almaty is the penultimate stage of the ISSF World Cup for shotgun shooters. The final stage will take place in Lonato, Italy, before the ISSF World Championships in Doha in November.
Ganemat Sekhon, who recently won mixed team event Gold in the ISSF World Cup in Cairo, Egypt, is currently ranked India's number one in the Women's Skeet event, would be spending 11 days training in Bari under Italian coach Genga while Gurjoat will head to Capua, to train at TAV Falco for 10
Mairaj Khan, who won his fifth senior ISSF medal on the day, was in brilliant form in the 30-team qualification round shooting 74/75 to help the Indian duo shoot a combined 143 out of 150. That helped them reach the title decider in the top position after they won a shoot-off with the Mexica
