Congress MP KC Venugopal has lashed out at the Centre, claiming that the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, was not allowed to speak multiple times while the Speaker allowed BJP MP Nishikant Dubey.
BJP leaders maintained that PM Modi wanted to address the House but was denied the opportunity due to disruptions by Congress leaders. The Congress alleged PM Modi stayed away because he did not want scrutiny on national security.

BJP MP Nishikant Dubey said on Wednesday that parliament proceedings were stalled due to a book that was not published anywhere, and urged the Speaker to allow a discussion on the books which were published to let the people "know the story before 2014".
The Lok Sabha was adjourned for the day on Wednesday and will reconvene on February 5 at 11 AM, following repeated disruptions and sustained uproar by Opposition members.
