Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari on Monday said that India has the second largest road network in the world. He also stated that India is the third largest automobile manufacturing hub in the world.
“Urban Extension Road 2, a ring road will be opened in 2-3 months, normally, if you (people) come to Delhi and then go to the airport it will take 2 hours but after this road opens, you can reach the airport in 20 minutes", said Gadkari.

Earlier in 2022, Union Minister Gadkari had approved the proposal mandating a minimum of 6 airbags in passenger cars and said the new rule would come into effect from October 1, 2023.
Hours after saying he was of the view that an additional GST must be imposed on the sale of diesel cars, Union Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari clarified that no such proposal currently under active consideration by the central government.
