Highlighting the tourism potential of Darjeeling that hosted second G20 Tourism Working Group meeting, West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose on Monday said the Himalayan town is going to be "darling" as far as the world is concerned.
The second Empowerment and Progression of Women's Economic Representation (EMPOWER) meeting under India's G20 Presidency is scheduled to be held during Tuesday-Thursday at Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala. The inception meeting was held on February 11-12 in Agra.
The delegates arrived at Agartala's Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) international airport at 2 pm on Sunday. They were then checked into Agartala's Hotel Polo Towers.
Sanjit Rodrigues, Secretary Protocol and Nodal Officer for G20 of Goa said that the preparation for the upcoming meetings is going on in full swing with the government exploring every aspect of management.
Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy, on the sidelines of the 2nd G20 Tourism Working Group meeting in Darjeeling, on Sunday expressed his confidence and said that India has the potential to attract tourists from all over the world.
"The motto of us hosting the G20 is about getting the world ready for India and India ready for the world," the EAM said while interacting with the public in Bengaluru.
