Delhi woke up to foggy conditions on Sunday morning following a slight drop in minimum temperature. The temperature in the national capital was recorded at 7 degrees Celsius at 5:30 am.
Ahead of the foggy season in winter, Intelligence agencies raised concern after the Border Security Force (BSF) intercepted more than two dozen Pakistani drones in the last fortnight that entered Indian territory to drop narcotics and arms.
Already reeling under a cold wave since the beginning of the new year, the national capital on Wednesday witnessed foggy conditions, with several flights and trains running late due to low visibility.
A video that went viral on social media on Saturday purportedly showed 157 passengers in distress at Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport after their flight was delayed by hours due to foggy weather conditions.
Passengers are likely to face inconvenience as over 32 long-distance trains are running behind their schedule by up to seven hours or more due to fog and bad weather conditions on Saturday.
While Barauni to New Delhi Special, Ayodhya Cantt- Delhi Express, Rajgir- New Delhi Shramjeevi express, and Pratapgarh-new Delhi Padmavat Express were running late by 1:45 hours. The officials added that Raigarh- Nizamuddin express and Jabalpur Nizamuddin Express is late by 3:30 hours.
Passengers faced a lot of trouble as several trains were delayed by nearly 4-5 hours due to foggy weather conditions. Five trains were also cancelled due to fog in Bihar, said an official of Patna Railway station.
