Dense fog and cold wave conditions continued to sweep the national capital with the city recording a minimum temperature of 7.8 degrees Celsius on Wednesday morning.
Dense to very dense fog conditions will prevail over northwest India during the next 24 hours and dense fog thereafter for subsequent three to four days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted on Tuesday.
Passengers faced a lot of trouble as several trains were delayed by nearly 4-5 hours due to foggy weather conditions. Five trains were also cancelled due to fog in Bihar, said an official of Patna Railway station.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday issued a fog warning for the next five days for many north Indian states. Dense to very dense fog is very likely in many pockets of Punjab and in a few pockets over Haryana and Chandigarh in the next 24 hours.
