A layer of fog enveloped Delhi on Saturday morning, reducing visibility and disrupting traffic movement. Other parts of North India also witnessed dense fog condition this morning.
India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an Orange alert for Prayagraj for today and tomorrow where the Kumbh Mela is currently going on. IMD Scientist Soma Sen Roy said that there is a possibility of rain and fog conditions in the Kumbh Mela area on Thursday and Friday.
"6ETravelAdvisory: With winter in full swing, many regions in Northern India are experiencing varying fog conditions. On some days, fog may be dense, while on others, lighter fog could still impact flight schedules," the post read.
Meanwhile, the minimum temperature in the city was recorded as 7 degrees Celsius, as per the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). Additionally, as per IMD, smog and dense fog conditions are likely to intensify due to the predominant surface winds from the north wind direction.

Delhi's winter chill continues, with the minimum temperature recorded at 9°C in Safdarjung and 6.3°C in Palam, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
As foggy conditions continued to prevail in Delhi-NCR, several trains experienced disruptions on Monday morning, although the flight operations at Delhi Airport remained unaffected despite low visibility.
A layer of shallow fog was witnessed in several parts of northern India on Sunday morning, with the Indian Meteorological Department predicting light to moderate rain at several places over the next two days in Delhi, Haryana, and Chandigarh.
"While landing and takeoffs continue at Delhi Airport, flights that are not CAT III compliant may be affected. Passengers are requested to contact the airline concerned for updated flight information. Any inconvenience caused is deeply regretted," the advisory shared on 'X' read.
