Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena on Friday wrote to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal listing all major factors that caused massive floods in the national capital, even as the Yamuna continues to flow above the danger level.
"There was heavy rain in the area late at night yesterday, after which the water level of the Pranmati river started flowing above the danger mark. Due to this the Pindar river also came in spate," Chamoli District Magistrate Himanshu Khurana said.
The water level of River Pranmati has increased to a great extent following heavy rainfall in the state. The authorities have alerted the locals in the area to ensure the safety and well-being of the residents, said officials on Friday.
