Addressing countrymen from the ramparts of the Red Fort on 77th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday appealed for peace in strife-torn Manipur saying that people across the country stand with the people of the Northeast state.
Upon his arrival at the Red Fort, PM Modi was received by Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh, Raksha Rajya Mantri, Ajay Bhatt, and Defence Secretary, Giridhar Aramane.
With the nation echoing with zeal and enthusiasm on the occassion of 77th Independence Day, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday hoisted the tricolour at his residence in New Delhi.
In view of the 77th Independence Day, a state level celebrations will be held in front of Old Secretariat, Panaji, Goa on August 15, wherein the Chief Minister of Goa Pramod Sawant will hoist the National tricolour and address the people.
