At least six people were killed in the firing incident that took place after a clash between a mob and a contingent of police and forest guards from Assam on Tuesday.

A cabinet delegation of the Meghalaya government will meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah on November 24 to discuss the firing incident at Mukroh area in Meghalaya's West Jaintia Hills district, said officials.
The clash erupted over the construction of a road in Pakistani territory by the Afghan Taliban. The land was owned by the residents of Khurlachi and Borki, which fall on the other side of the border fence, near Afghanistan's Paktia province.
One of the intruders was neutralised in retaliatory firing while the other was apprehended, an Army officer said, adding that the two incidents happened at different time durations.
The businessman has been identified as Sevak Ram, a resident of Dabra. He went to withdraw money from a bank. While he was returning, the thieves snatched his bag by firing with a pistol. The incident was captured on the CCTV cameras installed in a nearby location.

Telecom and social media services has been shut across districts of Meghalaya namely West Jaintia Hills, East Jaintia Hills, East Khasi Hills, Ri-Bhoi, Eastern West Khasi Hills, West Khasi Hills and South West Khasi Hills districts.
Confirming the report, Meghalaya DGP LR Bishnoi told ANI that, the incident took place in the Mukroh area and four persons were killed in the firing incident.
Sajid Hussain Turi, Pakistan's Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, condemned the firing incident. "Afghanistan's violation of Pakistan's Kurram border at Kharlachi and Borki and targeting the civilian population is condemnable," he said in a statement shared on T
