A fire broke out in several shops located in the Shirpur Jain bus stand area of Maharashtra's Washim on Saturday morning. Fire tenders were promptly dispatched to the site, and the fire-dousing operations are currently underway.
According to the Delhi Fire Service, 11 fire tenders rushed to the site to douse the flames. The fire, which broke out in the college library, was brought under control around 9:40 AM.
Fire Officer, Jai Singh Chauhan, spoke to ANI and said, "We received information about the fire. Upon receiving information, we arrived at the spot to conduct the dousing operation. The efforts to control the fire are underway."
Speaking to ANI, Satyajeet Gupta, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) East, said that the incident was reported at around 3.15 pm, after which several fire tenders were deployed at the spot.
The firefighters rescued a total of 19 people who were stuck in the terrace building due to smoke. Additionally, 2 dogs and 1 cat were also rescued. No injuries were reported as the fire started when the showroom was closed.
A massive fire broke out at Hotel Naaz in Ajmer's Diggi Bazaar. Fire tenders, an ambulance, and police rushed to the spot. Five people, including a child, were rescued, with two women hospitalized in critical condition.
Fire tenders and a forensic team reached the hotel near Falpatti Machhua in Kolkata, where 14 people died and several were injured after a fire broke out last night.
