A forest fire that had been raging along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Gurez valley of Bandipore, Jammu and Kashmir, was finally brought under control on Monday evening.
A fire broke out in a three-storey building in the Usmanpur village under the Aliganj police station limits on late Friday evening. The situation was contained by the police with the help of locals after fighting the blaze for nearly two hours.
Chief Fire Officer Bhubaneswar, Ramesh Chandra Majhi, said all the arrangements have been made to tackle any incident during the wee hours of the Diwali. Temporary fire stations have been set up across Bhubaneshwar, and 16 teams of police are patrolling the city to ensure public safety.
