According to the concerned lawyers, Newsclick has moved two petitions. One is seeking quashing of FIR and stating that arresting of accused persons is illegal. Another petition is challenging the Patiala House Court's order sending them seven days of remand.
According to Chief Fire Officer Kanpur, Deepak Sharma, "The fire incident took place in a warehouse that was located in the Sanjay Nagar area, under Kidwai Nagar police station limits of the city."
